The Shangri-La hotel, Singapore, from 18th to 20th June 2006, was the unique setting for over 600 Key Business, Research and Academic Europeans and Southeast Asians specialising in ICT for the EuroSouthEastAsia2006 cooperation forum who exchanged knowledge on ICT topics and ongoing cutting-edge developments going on within the two regions. The objective was to bring the two regions closer together and to create links going forward in the future.

 

Key Workshops dealing highlighting European & Southeast Asian

An interesting mix of European & Southeast Asian domain experts offered their insight and knowledge on their topics ranging from Grid eInfrastructures, Mobile TV to eHealth and ICT for Natural Disasters. The audience selected from 24 content rich parallel workshops and a platform for discussion on topics of mutual benefit to participants. Get in Touch & Training

Over eighty delegates took advantage of the training programme running parallel to the conference including: the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme, the Asia-Invest Programme, Digital Rights Management, Telecom Regulation and Towards an R&D Partnership. Exhibition

The European ICT Pavilion at the CommunicAsia-EnterpriseIT2006 trade fair was funded by the European Commission (EC) Directorate General for Information Society & Media (DG INFSO) as part of EUSEA2006 International Co-operation Forum for Information & Communication Technologies. The Pavilion showcased a breathtaking spectrum of 20 leading-edge technologies for Audio-Visual, e-Government, e-Health, e-Security and Telecommunications. It was the first time that European technologies were showcased under the EC banner at the international IT trade fair, CommunicAsia-EnterpriseIT. Euro-SEA event, Indonesia September 2006

The 2nd ICT Research Collaboration Conference will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia between September 11-13, 2006. It aims to bring together Southeast Asian and European researchers from academia and industry in order to establish new partnerships and promote opportunities for joint research initiatives.

In conjunction with this event and within the framework of the ENGAGE project, a focused business event for Southeast Asia will be held on September 14, 2006 in the Dharmawangsa Jakarta Hotel.

 

IST2006 - Helsinki

EUSEA2006 is planning a Follow-up networking event at the IST2006 Conference in Helsinki from 21st - 23rd November 2006. The aim of this event is to build on the momentum created at EUSEA2006 in Singapore in June 2006 and outline the emerging opportunities for joint collaboration between European and Southeast Asian ICT players for EC Framework Programme 7 (due to be launched late 2006 - early 2007).
